Wellington is very definitely "The Coolest Little Capital" in the world! The capital city sits aside the harbour and is a buzz of activity throughout the year. It is a city full of art, culture and amazing food and drink. Often described as the cafe capital, Wellington has more coffee shops and cafes per capita than anywhere else in the country and to top it off was recently announced by CNN as having the best coffee in the world! The city farmers market on Sundays is the perfect opportunity to check out the local artisan talent and taste some of the local produce. Check out the dynamic Cuba Street for great cafes and shopping. We love Floriditas and Duke Carvells for casual dining. If you are after something more formal look no further than Logan Brown and Boulcott Street Bistro, both of which are superb restaurants. The Wellington waterfront has a great range of excellent restaurants with diverse menus to enjoy the view from. The city hosts a fabulous festival of its food and hospitality every August. Wellington on a Plate celebrates the very best of the city with guest presenters from around the world joining in the fun and visitors from around New Zealand heading to the capital for exciting eating!
